Representing Cornell and Collegetown

When the people who work in Ithaca cannot afford to live there, we have an economy that is fundamentally broken. I will pursue both immediate and long-term solutions to improve affordability. I will raise the county minimum wage and rebalance property tax burdens, while cutting red tape and making it easier to build more affordable and market rate housing.

We’ve made real strides on climate action in Tompkins County but now, that progress is at risk. I’m committed to protecting the work we’ve begun, including funding for the Ithaca Green New Deal and our local sustainability programs. I’ll also team up with local experts to create incentives to make our homes and businesses more energy efficient, saving money for residents and cutting emissions.

We can boost economic productivity in Tompkins County by creating more opportunities for local businesses to thrive. I will relax more restrictive regulations, and redistribute the property tax burden to lighten the load on small and medium-sized businesses.
